System Of A Down Release 2 Songs, First Time in 15 Years

American rock band System Of A Down reassembled to make new music, the band’s first new material in 15 years. Two songs “Protect The Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz” are already available on the band’s Bandcamp.

The band decided to break the silence and voice their support for Armenian forces in the Nagorno Karabakh region war with Azerbaijan. Expected, given the fact, that all of the band’s members are ethnically Armenian.

The band stated the following in their Facebook message:

We as System Of A Down have just released new music for the first time in 15 years. The time to do this is now, as together, the four of us have something extremely important to say as a unified voice. These two songs, “Protect The Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz,” both speak of a dire and serious war being perpetrated upon our cultural homelands of Artsakh and Armenia.

They then named the rules of Aliyev in Azerbaijan and Erdogan in Turkey “corrupt regimes” and even “dictatorships”. And while the message may be rather controversial for some people (Nagorno Karabakh is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan) and your political preferences and point of view may determine its perception, you may still enjoy the music.

The band has also decided to raise funds in support of Armenia and donate all of the proceeds from these songs and march to ArmeniaFund.
