The pop and country singer Miley Cyrus is set to release a full rock album. Her upcoming release ‘Plastic Hearts’ is out this November 27.
Yes, you heard it right. Miley Cyrus. A rock album.
We did see her dipping her toes into the heavy scene for the past couple of years. Yet this time she is ready to show her fans what real rock means. And, it is of course an attempt to gain new followers, who would have missed the release due to different musical tastes otherwise.
In her tweet responding to a fan queen joheen Cyrus confirmed the rumours, replying “Your wish is my command baby” to a statement that her fans want her to release a full rock album.
Fuck yes! Your wish is my command baby. ❤️ https://t.co/wJW6zqMNY4— Miley Ray Cyrus (@MileyCyrus) November 9, 2020
As a teaser of what Miley can offer to the world of rock’n’roll, she has recently performed a cover to The Cranberries’ Zombie at the legendary Whiskey a Go Go. Who knows, maybe Miley’s album will in fact bring more attention of the younger generations to the wide range of rock music.
The album cover also hints on it being on the heavier side, since it has been shot by the legendary Mick Rock, who is known for his work with The Ramones, David Bowie, Joan Jett and Freddie Mercury. In addition, Miley has recently stated that she will at some point release a Metallica cover album.
While clearly Miley Cyrus is a pop and country singer, she has always been open about her affection to rock and metal music. In the September interview to Pop Crush, Miley also stated: “People ask me who I’ve studied for my movement onstage, and I always say Iggy Pop.” Well, who is more rock’n’roll than Iggy Pop?
