The legendary KK Downing was the latest guest on the Metal Pilgrim show. Downing spoke about the debut album Sermons of the Sinner by his new band KK’s Priest, his decision to leave Judas Priest and more.
While speaking about the new band’s line up and the position of the bass player, KK said that he has never considered Dave Ellefson for the position. KK added, that at the time of the KK’s Priest’s formation Dave was still at Megadeth and they were doing exceptionally well.
“Dave was still in MEGADETH at the time and doing exceptionally well,” KK said. “They were about to go out with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, and then they were supposed to do their own headlining show, with LAMB OF GOD supporting,” Downing added.
In addition KK Downing opened up wether he regrets leaving Judas Priest and what kept him busy during the decade away from touring. KK also spoke about rivalry in Heavy Metal, mainly about Iron Maiden and his relationship with Steve Harris and Paul Di’Anno, live touring and more.
